Cardinal Mooney's Isaac Zammit Commits to SVSU

Isaac Zammit has committed to Saginaw Valley State University to further his athletic and academic career. Isaac will run cross country and indoor/outdoor track for SVSU and doesn't even have to change school mascots: he will remain a Cardinal into his collegiate campaign.  He plans to study Business Management.

While a student-athlete at Marine City Cardinal Mooney, Isaac competed in cross country and track at the varsity level all four years of high school, along with running indoor track. He has a personal best of 17:00.7 for the 5K and was a two-time D4 cross country state qualifier.  On the track, Isaac has bests (so far) of 2:02 in the 800, 4:26 in the 1600, and 9:47 in the 3200.  He is a two-time 4x800 meter relay regional champ/state qualifier and qualified for the state meet individually in the 800 and 1600 last year.  Along with his athletic accomplishments, Isaac served as the Vice President of the National Honor Society at Cardinal Mooney High School.

“I chose SVSU because of its strong cross country and track teams, specifically its great mid-distance program. I felt at home on my visits there as it is a smaller college environment with a great business program,” Isaac said.  “Additionally, I liked the coach; his training philosophies seemed to mesh well with mine. Last, I must say that their athletic facilities, specifically the indoor track, are top-of-the-line”.

Congratulations, Isaac!
