Gunnar Wessel Commits to St. Clair County Community College

Gunnar Wessel has committed to St. Clair County Community College to further his athletic and academic career, running cross country for the Skippers.

As a home-schooled student-athlete, Wessel competed for the Michigan Athletic Club for Homeschoolers (MACH) in cross country for four years, along with running indoor and outdoor track events. He ran a personal best of 17:47 for the 5K this fall, dropping close to a minute off his career-best time.

Wessel says he’s interested in studying Business/Finance and chose St. Clair County Community College because "SC4 is a solid academic value, and I believe its running program will provide a great opportunity to improve my running while on the same team as my sister, Grace, and other very talented runners.”

Congratulations, Gunnar!

*If you (or someone you know) are committing to compete collegiately, we want to celebrate the next steps in your academic and athletic career!  Fill out the form under “Collegiate Athletes” on our website to be featured on bluewaterrunning.org and our social sites.
