SC4 Skippers Continue Record-Breaking Season

Glen Davis led the SC4 team, resetting his school record.

The SC4 Skippers continue to raise the bar, resetting both the men's and women's school records and running multiple personal records at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational, hosted by Roberts Wesleyan University in Rochester, NY.

Michael Paoletti was the Skippers' #2 runner.

The men placed 5th out of 14 teams. Glen Davis shone again, breaking his school record by 2 seconds in 25:50.9. Davis placed 11th overall out of 175 runners. Mike Paoletti placed 39th as the team’s second runner in a time of 27:12.5. This is a 54-second personal record, which ranks him 8th on the SC4 Top Ten List. Matt LaFreniere set a 17-second PR, placing 42nd in a time of 27:21.1. This performance allows him to hold steady, ranking 9th on the SC4 Top Ten List. Lance Kowalski made huge gains, taking 54 seconds of his PR crossing the line in 27:45.6. Kowalski’s effort ranks him 10th on the SC4 Top Ten List. Running as the team’s 5th man was Logan Cooper in 28:16.6. Logan took 25 seconds off his previous record and should soon hold a spot on the SC4 Top Ten List. Mason Wildie, Joe Edgemon, and Devin Dudley all set impressive PRs with times of 28:45.3, 31:02.0, and 33:05.4. Wildie cut 20 seconds off his previous record, while Edgemon and Dudley cut 26 seconds and 56 seconds off respectively.

The Lady Skippers also continue to surge forward, setting another school record and multiple personal records. The team placed 7th out of 13 teams.


Jessica Denver was the first Skipper to cross the finish line, also breaking her school record in a time of 19:51.2. She placed 34th overall in a field of 147 runners. Grace Wessel posted a season-best by 9 seconds, placing 48th in a time of 20:18.8. Wessel’s time ranks her 4th on the SC4 Top Ten List. Mary Kaminski pushed the pace to be the team’s number three runner, setting a 20-second season best in 21:18.0. Kaminski’s time puts her 10th on the SC4 Top Ten List. Completing the team scoring was Beth Baldwin (21:51.7) and Elizabeth Sliman (22:05.7). Baldwin’s time is a 22-second PR. Kayla McIntyre ran a season-best of 22:28.3, taking 40 seconds off her previous time.


The Skippers toe the line again on Friday, September 29th at their home conference meet, the Skipper’s Cross Country Invite. The meet will take place at Marysville City Park in Marysville, MI. Women run at 11:30 a.m. with the men racing at 12:45 p.m.
