The Wildcat Relay meet in Mayville on Tuesday (Sept. 5) was not your average cross country event. Two-person running pairs alternated turns, each covering roughly a 2.6-kilometer leg. According to Imlay City Coach Sarah O'Brien, athletes had to battle the heat and swarms of mosquitoes on one of the hottest days yet this season (and the summer). The following pairs placed in the top 20:

Almont Boys:

• 15th place: Biolchini & Kline

• 19th place: Siewert & SaintOnge

Almont Girls:

• 7th place: Evola & Delaurier

• 11th: Siewert & Coronel

Imlay City Boys:

• 7th: Wildie & Whitney.

Imlay City Girls:

• 5th place: Bhatti & O'Brien

• 12th: Hayes & Calleja

• 13th: Donahue & Johnson

North Branch Boys:

• 11th place: Opperman & Castle

• 14th: Barkowska & Kardell

• 16th: Pung & Card

North Branch Girls:

• 9th place: Hunt & Ludescher

• 16th: Osborne & Steward
